Opportunities for Lazio’s Aerospace Sector

A Milan stop for the Italian States General of the Space Economy—a sector in which Lazio is the national leader and one of Europe’s major hubs. The three-day event in Milan, following meetings in Turin and Rome, helped fine-tune the industry’s strategy: the goal is to build a broad, inclusive network that brings together start-ups and SMEs alongside research centers, universities, and specialized agencies.

Lazio will take a leading role in all initiatives to develop the national aerospace supply chain. With 330 active companies, 23,000 employees, €5 billion in revenue, and over €1.5 billion in exports, Lazio brings significant strength to the table—and is ready to scale further by reallocating an additional €240 million through 2027. This comes ahead of the next EU programming cycle, expected to allocate €400 billion plus €130 billion for security, already announced.

These resources will reinforce and expand opportunities for the Lazio Aerospace District, which can offer reconversion pathways to the automotive sector, while multiplying applications for research and regional manufacturing.
