The annual Banca Intesa report on Lazio’s technology clusters has confirmed the strong performance of the Region’s exports.
In 2024, exports reached a new record of €16.2 billion, largely driven by the pharmaceutical and ICT clusters, both of which saw double-digit growth over the past year. Export growth reached 8.5% compared to the previous year—well above the national figure of -0.4%.
This performance is largely attributed to the pharmaceutical cluster, which grew by 22.6%, and the ICT sector, which increased by 19.9%.
This positive trend also had an impact on employment: the aerospace, food, and services sectors recorded the highest growth in workforce demand.
Rome continues to rank as the second province in Italy—just after Milan—for the number of innovative startups.
