The Lazio Aerospace Technological District (DTA) was established in 2004 through an agreement between the Region and the Ministry of Research. In 2012, the DTA became a partner of the National Aerospace Technology Cluster (CTNA).

ESA-ESRIN European Space Agency
Lazio hosts the ESA-ESRIN headquarters in Frascati, which manages Earth Observation missions. ESRIN is the main hub for the acquisition, distribution, and exploitation of satellite data, including those from non-ESA missions.
Italian Space Agency
The Italian Space Agency (ASI) is also based in Lazio and is one of the key players in space and satellite research.
