First stone for Rome Technopole

Rome Technopole is no longer merely an aspiration: it has now laid its foundations. Antonella Polimeno, Rector of Sapienza University of Rome and President of the Rome Technopole Foundation, has officially opened the construction site with the ceremonial laying of the first stone for the research hub in Pietralata.

The development of Rome Technopole’s headquarters will be a decisive step in restoring the area’s profile as a highly innovative center dedicated to research and as a magnet for investments and talent, both national and international.

Italy and the Lazio Region thus reaffirm their vocation and commitment to the future. Rome Technopole will be part of an ecosystem designed to build strong partnerships and connect expertise, infrastructure, and institutional responsibilities, thanks to an alliance among universities, research bodies, public institutions, and the productive sector. A challenge born out of the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan), but one that goes beyond the Plan itself.

In a year, the new spaces are expected to be delivered, with the innovation hub finally becoming operational—built on the circular use of resources and open to startups and high-tech companies, teaching and shared spaces, workshops, and resources dedicated to prototyping.
